48 carrier super sheathSterling's 48-carrier super sheath (left) gives the rope a smoother finish and better hand than its coarser competitors.  The 48-carrier sheath exposes less sheath yarn to abrasion, making it last longer.  Rappels have less vibration.

Since Sterling introduced this revolutionary rope in 1998, it has become a necessary and integral part of most rescue organizations' equipment.  It offers super-low elongation (less than 1% per 300 lb. load) It resists moisture, UV degradation and certain chemicals.  It has the highest tensile strengths for its size and remains supple after repeated use.

RIT Lines
Escape in difficult conditions is made easier with Sterling's Rapid Intervention Team lines.  This Aramid  (kevlar, Technora,Twaron) yarn features very low stretch and very high melting points.  Aramids are impervious to many chemicals that destroy nylon or polyester ropes and are difficult to cut.
RIT 500 is a 8mm line with an Aramid sheath and nylon core.  It is heat resistant to 500 degrees and is ideal for a personal escape line.
RIT 900 is 100% Aramid cord and is heat resistant to 900 degrees.  It is ideal as a tag line and is the perfect complement to thermal imaging cameras.
