Jordan Atlas - Jordan grew up learning rescue
techniques. He was an accomplished climber by age 11 and began his
whitewater kayaking career at 12. Today, he helps conduct ice rescue
classes, high ropes challenges and acts as an advisor and safety officer
on swiftwater classes. Jordan is an officer with the Green Bay Police
Department. His wife, Amanda, works for Bellin Health.
Larry Atlas - Wisconsin
lost a pioneer in the area of technical rescue,
just at the time when so many public safety agencies, fire and law
enforcement alike,
are beginning to understand the need to become involved in these specialized
disciplines.
Whether it was ice rescue, swiftwater rescue, rope rescue or wilderness
SAR, our founder,
Larry Atlas, had the foresight to recognize the tremendous need for
expanded training in all of these areas. Larry passed away
after a brief battle with cancer on January 2, 2003. He will be
missed by family and friends, more than words can express.
