CONSENT AND LIABILITY RELEASE
      Conditions (Please read carefully before signing.)

THIS IS NOT A SPORT OR RECREATIONAL COURSE.  It is a professional training program for forensic evidence detection and recovery in dangerous environments.  Participation must be sponsored through your public safety agency or K9 SAR organization.

The search activities encountered during this training can be demanding physically and mentally.  It is important that your respiratory and circulatory systems be in good condition.  Any person with heart trouble, asthma, leg, back or other medical problems should not participate.  If taking medication, or if you have any medical concerns, consult your doctor and/or the instructor before starting the program.

It is understood that the terrain covered in searches can be hazardous.  It can contain poisonous plants or animals.  It can contain unseen man-made hazards, such as sharp metal or building materials.  It can contain treacherous footing, fallen logs, holes, etc.

It is understood that the specific skills and techniques taught in this class do not represent the full scope of possible techniques and skills, and do not cover all scenarios.

Students in classes held at White Bear Rescue Training Center are not protected for liability under the insurance umbrella of Atlas Outfitters ATR, White Bear Rescue Training Center or course instructors.  You must have a signed liability agreement from your department or organization supervisor to participate.

I understand and agree that for any occurrence in connection with this course that may result in injury, death or other damages to me, my animal, or my family, heirs, or assigns, I hereby personally assume all risks in connection with this course.  In addition, I save and hold harmless any representative of Atlas Outfitters ATR or White Bear Rescue Training Center, and any course instructors, from any claim by me, or my family, estate, heirs, or assigns, arising out of my enrollment and participation in this course.

__    This letter confirms that representatives of White Bear Training Center/Atlas Outfitters ATR, KERT and WTROT have been requested to instruct the above named individual in Wilderness Search and Rescue.

__      It is understood that these specific skills and techniques do not represent the full scope of possible detection techniques and skills, and do not cover all scenarios.

__      The determination that department/organization personnel have the necessary equipment and training; and that conditions are suitable for the safe deployment in the field, belongs to jurisdictional authority incident command on scene.  Therefore, Atlas Outfitters ATR, KERT and WTROT and their representatives are held blameless from any claim arising from either drills or field work using techniques demonstrated during this course.

__     I confirm that our department/organization personnel will be covered for injury and liability exposure by our department/organization while participating in this activity.  Each participant will be required to sign a consent and liability release prior to instruction.

__     I understand that it is our responsibility to notify White Bear Rescue Training Center/Atlas Outfitters ATR, KERT and WTROT of changes or exceptions in this agreement.
